Welcome to the Black Dog Running Club
Situated centrally on the Norfolk / Suffolk border. We encourage all abilities to join; friendliness and camaraderie are our strengths. We are more than just a running club, and social activities feature strongly in our club calendar, and we hold more races than any other club in the county (probably!!).
Our main races of the year are, The Great East Run, a 20k race run around the picturesque villages known as 'The Saints' and the Bungay Marathon and Half Marathon, usually held a week or so before the London Marathon in April.'
We also organise a series of 10k road races from Broome, nr Bungay throughout the year which include a charity 10k race on Good Friday and a mid-week summer series. We also hold a Suffolk series cross country race at Broome for Suffolk affiliated clubs. Also on Boxing Day every year we run the infamous “Groggy Doggy” on the Bungay Common.
For details of all our events, click on the "Races" tab.
We meet every Thursday evening at 6.00 pm and 6.30pm for informal runs followed by a training session at 7.00pm. We also meet every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for speed training, repetitions and hill sessions with our Athletics Coaches. We welcome people of all abilities and ages.
Both weekly sessions take place at the Bungay Sports Centre, situated to the right of Bungay High School.
