About the Club

Bungay Black Dog Running Club meets for weekly training sessions at the sports hall and use the High School track during the summer months. Track events are held in the summer as well as a regular programme of cross country and road races throughout the year.

Bungay Marathon and half marathon have been held annually in April since 1982 and after the first one, the Black Dog Running Club was formed. There is also a very popular fun run and all the profits from the three races goes to a nominated charity.

The Bungay Black Dog Running club holds a 10k race on Good Friday every year, and the proceeds from the race are presented to a local charity. However, we hold many other races, including our summer evening series of 10k races. In fact, there is hardly a month without a race of race of some sorts!.

We have the increasingly popular Great East Run, a 20k race through the picturesque and rural area known as "The Saints". Click on the "Races" tab for details of of all our races!

We also hold our Summer series of 10km races at Broome from June to August- these are held on a Wednesday evening at 7:30. Then there is the infamous Groggy Doggy Boxing day Cross Country run on Bungay Common.
