Welcome to the Junior Section
On behalf of Bungay Black Dog Running Club we would like to welcome your child(ren) to the club. All abilities are welcome. The minimum age for membership is 8 years old at the time of joining. The following information will provide you with some information about our activities. The club provides opportunities for all students in full time education to receive coaching and take part in competition. All coaching is overseen by qualified Level 2 UK Athletics coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.
The club has achieved Sport England’s Clubmark, which is awarded when a club is able to demonstrate that it meets the criteria regarding training, safeguarding and protecting children, sports equity and ethics and club management. Clubmark is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for your child(ren) in the sport. Our club Welfare Officers, Paul Seary, Nikki Hunting & Tom Pullinger, are responsible for ensuring that our child protection policy is implemented.
We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support. We are keen to try and involve parents in the club and would like to invite you to come along watch or even participate if you wish, and ask any questions regarding the training before your child becomes a member. Below is some information about training times and details regarding club registration.
Training sessions take place on the following days:
Tuesdays 6.30 - 7.30pm at Bungay Sports Hall
Thursdays 6.30 - 7.30pm at Bungay Sports Hall

We appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session, if they are not making their own way home. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please inform the coach taking the session. If someone else will be collecting your child then please inform the coaches at the start of the session.
The cost of each training session is £1.00. The club has a small membership fee of £5.00 and this is due on the January 1st. Cost saving Family membership is available if parents also wish to join. See the main club page Additionally we would be grateful if you could complete the junior club membership form.
For the safety of your child it is important that the club is informed of any medical condition or allergies that may be relevant, should your child fall ill or be involved in an accident while at the club.
