Welcome to the Junior Section

On behalf of Bungay Black Dog Running Club I would like to welcome your child(ren) to the club and provide you with some information about our activities.  The club provides opportunities for all students in full time education to receive coaching and take part in competition.  All coaching is overseen by qualified Level 2 UK Athletics coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.

The club is presently working to achieve Sport England’s Clubmark, which is awarded when the club is able to demonstrate that it meets the criteria regarding training, safeguarding and protecting children, sports equity and ethics and club management. Clubmark is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for your child(ren) in the sport.  Our club Welfare Officer, Donna Dean, is responsible for ensuring that our child protection policy is implemented.

We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support.  We are keen to try and involve parents in the club and would like to invite you to come along watch or even participate if you wish, and ask any questions regarding the training before your child becomes a member.  Below is some information about training times and details regarding club registration.

Training sessions take place on the following days:
Tuesdays 6.30-7.30pm at Bungay Sports Centre
Thursdays 7.00-8.00pm at Bungay Sports Centre
Saturdays 2.00-3.00pm at The Maltings Meadow, Ditchingham

We appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session, if they are not making their own way home.  If you are going to be late picking your child up, please contact John White and let him know. If someone else will be collecting your child then please inform the coaches at the start of the session.

The cost of each training session is £1.00. The club has a small membership fee of £1.00 and this should be paid by 1st January.  We would be grateful if you could complete the attached junior club membership form.

For the safety of your child it is important that the club is informed of any medical condition or allergies that may be relevant, should your child fall ill or be involved in an accident while at the club.

If you would like to talk to someone at the club about this information or your child’s involvement with the club, please contact any of the persons below:
