Bungay Marathon - Car Parking

Parking for the Marathon is at the Bungay Football Club practice pitch on Pirnhow Street, the postcode is NR35 2RU

The Car Park is a short walk (5 mins) from the Maltings race HQ

Directions: From North/Norwich and A143 – From Chicken roundabout, junction A143/B1332, - exit roundabout onto Ditchingham Dam follow road onto Pirnhow street, pass entrance to Maltings on right and the car park entrance is a little further on left next to disused church. (please note that this route will be closed between 10.15 and 10.35 and again from 12.15 to 12.40 for the start of the two races-During these times please follow directions from West through Bungay or as if coming  from the South)

From the South/A144 and B1062 – From Halesworth enter Bungay with Swimming Pool on left, travel down St Johns Hill and at bottom take right turn into Hillside Road East, pass Coop store on left, then a forced lazy right turn onto Beccles Road, then take next left at edge of Town onto Wainford Road which becomes Pirnhow Street – follow road and the car park is on the right next to a disused church.

From East – Instead of taking the A146/A143 from Beccles take the B1062 out of Beccles (along the route of the Marathon) and at the bottom of Watch House Hill on the edge of Bungay take right hand turn onto Wainford Road which becomes Pirnhow Street - follow road and the car park is on the right next to a disused church

From West – Exit A143 at Clays roundabout, into Bungay – travel along Broad Street to Buttercross follow one way system pass churches on either side and then fork left towards Beccles and onto the Beccles Road follow through to edge of the Town eventually taking left turn into Wainford road which becomes Pirnhow Street – follow road and the car park is on the right next to a disused church.

From whichever direction it is much easier to access the car park from the south even if this means travelling through Bungay – This is because the short section of the road from the north is part of the Marathon course and will be closed or at least congested at certain times of the day.
