Challenge Wanaka Half Ironman relay
Robin and Christine Ashe report:
Christine’s team finished in 6hrs 43m. I ran with Joanna and Pierre in 6hrs 55m. Christine ran just over the half marathon distance in 2hrs 36m and I was 2hrs 24m.  The course was mostly off road alongside the lake. This coupled with the hills and heat made it a tough but very enjoyable race.
As I ran past a gentleman on the final stretch he said “Oh, Bungay Black Dog” so I asked him where he was from and he said he was born in Ditchingham.  What a small world!

Blackpool half
Sarah Sparkes reports:
Today Simon and I ran a half marathon which wasn’t cancelled. A small, flat out and back 1.5m loop twice, followed by a larger undulating 5m out and back loop twice.  Very tough conditions with 35 mph head wind in one direction and 50mph gusts trying to blow us over. Never ran such a hard downhill sprint to the finish into a headwind.  After the heavy rain of yesterday we were lucky to have a dry run and the sun came out for for the last part.
