Around and About (17th November 2019)

Snetterton full/half marathon

Alice Kirk reports:

Today, in crisp but perfect running conditions a pack of Black Dogs (pictured below) ran at both of these events. The half marathon consisted of three laps around the circuit and service roads and the full marathon six laps. Jason Hurst was first male Black Dog home in the half marathon in a 1.30.53 PB and Hannah-Mae Taylor the first of our ladies home in the full marathon in 4.32.20. Massive congratulations must go to Hannah-Mae who was doing her first marathon, to Jason Hurst and to Fudge Farrar on their PBs in the half marathon, and to Riasa Douglas-Collow on running her first half marathon. The results are as follows for the half: Jason Hurst 01:30:53, Riasa-Douglas-Collow 01:50:25,  Zoe Holmes 01:50:34, Damian Ashcroft 01:52:13, Kevin Clark 01:56:28, Alice Kirk 02:13:02, Fudge Farrar 02:21:29, Graham Sampson 02:25:49 and Tim Hurst 02:38:14. Old Buckenham Run in The Dark

Wednesday 13 November, Chris and I did the Old Buckenham Run in The Dark 10km; two laps of country lanes from the Ox and Plough and part of an international series of events raising money for the Mark Pollock Trust (which raises money to research spinal injury treatment). It was a lovely
night for a run, if a little chilly.

Stowmarket Scenic seven

Sunday 10 November. A cracking autumnal run although what were once green fields are rapidly turning into Stowmarket suburbs. Got a killer hill at four miles. Results: 57 Chris 49.08 (chip time), 159 Mik Carr 57.26,196 Bobbie 59.59
2nd EACCL cross country

Wednesday 6 November at Whitlingham Country Park. Lin Hunt, Christine Muttitt and I did four miles while Rob Hall, Chris and Michael Cooke ran six miles including the dreaded Stairway to Heaven.
