Stuart Young reports:
Thank you to the 45 black dogs and others who came along and shared some cake (courtesy of Alice and Louise) and a few laughs. As someone pointed out “that is a lot of Saturday morning lay-ins you could’ve had”.
Bobbie Sauerzapf reports:
Chris and I ran this 5km race at RAF Marham on Wednesday – a nice run but hot.
Wissey half marathon
Alice Kirk reports:
10 Black Dogs ran at this undulating half marathon today. There was a heavy rain shower towards the end, but it was generally quite good conditions, with sun and cloud and quite blustery in places. First male home was Jesse Timberlake in 1.27 and first lady Bobbie Sauerzapf in 1.59.
Bedford half marathon
Robin Ashe reports:
Seven Black Dogs enjoyed warm weather this morning on a flat course at Bedford. The route is very picturesque but rather too crowded in places. Our first lady home was Sarah Sparkes in 2 hrs 6 mins and our first man was Simon Sparkes in 1 hr 46m. Full results here.

Paul Bird reports:
Mike Ball and I entered this on Saturday (31 August). It is a 12-hour challenge for teams or solo runners with a great atmosphere and lovely marshalls. It has a very well marked gently undulating 4 mile trail loop in Heartwood Forest and Nomansland Common. I had to quit after 16 miles but Mike managed the 32 miles (just over 50km) which we had planned. We were rewarded with eco-friendly wooden medals and exceedingly bright pink T-shirts. I’d recommend next year’s edition to everyone.
