Montane Cheviot Goat race

Jody Donaldson  reports:

I was among 300 runners in the ultra Montane Cheviot Goat race on Saturday. The race started at 6am on a route done in reverse on mountain rescue advice due to 70mph winds. It was a very brutal  but fantastic race – 55 miles of mostly mud and bog and over 12,000ft of elevation.

Turkey Trot

Rachel Hirst, Robin Farrar and Christine Muttitt report:

Fifty-two Black Dogs finished the Beccles Turkey Trot on a bright but very blustery day, especially on the exposed stretches of the course with a welcome tail wind on the homeward leg.

Hazel Garrity and Potty won their respective age categories, Bobbie Sauerzapf was second in hers and Tim Hirst won the male fancy dress.

A clutch of PBs were achieved (see Hall of Fame) while Robin Farrar hit the gold age standard for the sixth time this year.
