Bungay Black Dog Running Club (BBDRC) junior are on top cross country form, taking a clutch of school and county podium places.
In the fourth round of the Suffolk Winter League Cross Country, Tess Andrews comfortably won the under 11’s race being not only the first girl home but beating the boys to be the first child over the finishing line.
In the junior race, Holly Bunn was the third girl home and took first place in her under 13 girls age group.
Ellen Lockhart came second in her under 15 girls age group.
Harry Allcock was 7th in his under 15 boys age group and 11th overall while Ruben Andrews came 7th among the under 13 boys.
Club juniors Alfie Gard, Peter Lowther and Kiah Butcher also represented the Sir John Leman High School at the St Felix School Cross Country Competition.
Alfie Gard came first in the Under 13 boys and his team won the team award for his age group.  Kiah Butcher came first in the under 12 girls race and she was also part of the team that won the team award. Peter Lowther came sixth in the Under 12 boys race while his team came second among the under 12s.
Among the club seniors, Jody Donaldson and Andrew Manning took part in the St Peter’s Way Ultra along the 45 mile St Peter’s Way footpath from Chipping Ongar to the ancient Chapel of St Peter-on-the-wall at Bradwell on Sea.
Andrew finished 12th among the 84 runners taking part in this self navigating course with a time of six hours, 53 minutes and 12 seconds while Jody was in 62nd place in 9:40:29.
Four intrepid Doggies headed for Wells-Next-The-Sea for the first of 2017’s Nelson Knee Knobbler races.  David Thomas took part in the 5k, Jayne Capps-Jenner took on the challenge of the 10k and Sue Wright with Majid did the 10k canicross. 

A further six club members were among 6000 runners at the Cambridge Half Marathon, where excellent street support and marshalling provided some compensation for the cold and wet conditions. Their results were: David Neeve 1.38, Andrew Pottruff 1.42, Bridget Shaw 1.48, Becky Wass 2.03, Paul Bird and Bob Jack 2.47.
