Over the past few months there’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes to renew the club’s Clubmark accreditation. Clubmark is Sport England’s national accreditation scheme for high quality community sports clubs and stands for higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management.
On Tuesday we have an assessor from England Athletics coming to the club to carry out our ‘practical exam’. She will be talking to athletes, coaches, parents, welfare officers so please do take the time to talk to her.
The club now has an updated set of club policies. These are available in the shed at BARC and will shortly be on the website. Some of these are specific to our coaching programme but all of you should be familiar with the Athlete Code of Conduct, Welfare Policy, Accident and Emergency Procedure and Health and Safety Policy.
Do you know who the club’s three Welfare Officers (WOs) are? Check out the poster at BARC. The WOs are there for the whole club, not just the junior section.
