Following the latest government announcements this week, England Athletics has confirmed that organised sports and activities which have been through return to play protocols and which take place OUTDOORS will be allowed to continue as before. This means that the club’s organised sessions can continue in the same format for the time being. The H&S team is working through the latest information, and if we need to make any changes you’ll be advised via the newsletter/fb.
In the meantime it is vitally important that we all adhere to the measures recently introduced at BARC:
5.30pm group – please park at the far end of the car park6.45pm group – please do not arrive too early for your session to allow the 5.30pm group to disperse and park at the road end of the car park
Both groups: please stay in your cars until your coaches wave you to the field entrance. Those arriving on foot or by bike should keep at least 2metres from other club members. Please do not congregate by the field entrance.
One-way system at BARC. Athletes will access the field by the main gate and exit by the end gate. This is to help reduce the crossing-over of sessions and the temptation to stop and chat with people outside of your bubble. Please follow your coach’s instructions to return to your transport and leave BARC immediately after your session finishes.
We also recommend that where lift-sharing is necessary or you are running with other members of your household, please try to book on to the same group. There are a couple of exceptions where a household has an Improver and a Development runner and you may continue to book onto different groups. This is to reduce the risk of multiple training groups being asked to self-isolate should a runner become symptomatic.
The club’s latest risk assessment is here.
