Out and About – 20th September 2020

Simon Ludkin Writes:

As this week’s newsletter is published I am hoping to be approaching the dreaded shingle beach at Cley after starting at Hunstanton at 8am this morning. My aim is to get a novice walker along the Norfolk Coastal Path to Cromer (a mere 47 miles!!!!) raising funds for the Community Sports Foundation. There will be 3 of us only this year taking on the full distance adhering to current Government guidelines. Hopefully we will be finished by midnight. Update to follow in next week’s newsletter. Stay safe all and take care.

David Neeve Writes:

So in these crazy times the new normal is Virtual Races – being a bit of a racing junky I thought I’d give the Virtual Sizzling Sixty a go. You to run for 1 hour to see how far you can go and for your efforts you will receive a bespoke wooden medal sent in the post. Money raised goes to charity for animals (don’t know the name of the charity). I gave it a bash running at my 10k pace and trying to hold it for an hour (I finished with half marathon pace😂) and was happy with a result of 7,96 miles – agonisingly close to 8 miles. I recommend this virtual race to everyone and you have until the end of September to enter – so go for it! It’s virtually the best race to do in September.
