As races fill up, please remember that running using someone else’s race number is not allowed without the approval of race organisers.
Your disclosed medical information is passed to first aid staff to deal with casualties accordingly.
If you are running with another’s number and they aren’t allergic to penicillin but you are, it could be dangerous if you’re given a dose.
No race organiser wants to tell Joe Blogg’s next of kin he’s in hospital, only to be told Joe is sitting next to them. Also, imagine the embarrassment of winning the male 70+ prize when you’re a 35 year old female.
For these reasons, running under another’s identity is a no-no – most races will disqualify those involved and inform UK Athletics or ARC; both parties could then be banned from races.
