TopDogs is not just about PBs and it’s great when people write to me with stories like the below from Gus Riley. It’s brilliant to see you back running again Gus.
“I’d just completed 8 weeks of Coach to 5K in December, after recovering from an injury and balance problems, when I tripped and got another injury, but I’m back running regularly now, and beginning to increase the distance, and hope to start following club training plans for improvers this week. My message to everyone who is struggling “Don’t give up!” The physical and mental benefits outweigh the effort.”
I couldn’t agree more with the last statement, particularly mental health wise. When I started running I never considered it as a potential benefit but now it’s one of the main reasons I run.
Don’t forget we want to hear about your running achievements, it’s not all about speed and PBs either. Have you done something for the first time or something you’re proud of, email me. to feature in #TopDogs. You can also nominate others if you see or hear of an amazing achievement that should be recognised.
